Spinnaker Bradner Automatic Silver Blue*
The Bradner timepiece is a vintage diver, developed with a compressor style case and a bi-directional turning bezel. While the watch has an unabashedly vintage aesthetic about it, it has been designed and manufactured to leverage the best of modern-day watchmaking.
All of this sits under a curved edge and a slightly domed sapphire lens affixed to the 42mm diameter marine-grade stainless steel case which has been precisely carved and polished. Powering the Bradner is a workhorse NH35 (TMI) 24 Jewel Automatic Self-winding hacking movement with 41 hours of power reserve that is visible through the exhibition see-through case back.
Most notably the inner-turning bezel is a custom molded ring with five minute markers positioned at a straight horizontal, parallel to the dial for easy viewing. Beyond this, a liberal application of Swiss Super-LumiNova on the ring has been undertaken to give this elapsed time measurement greater visibility in lower light conditions. The main dial also holds an applied minute marker ring and a square-shaped index that matches the baton-shaped hands. All of which have also been layered with Swiss Super-LumiNova material.
The two crowns sit at the 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock positions, operating time adjustment and bezel setting respectively. The lugs are proportioned appropriately and sloped down to create a snug fit over the wrist as it sits attached to a stainless steel beads of rice bracelet.
